Busy Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Practice in Macon Seeking Experienced Surgical Technician

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Mohs Surgery Technician to join our surgical team. The successful candidate will assist in Mohs micrographic surgeries, a technique used to treat skin cancer, under the supervision of our dermatologists. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the Mohs surgical procedure, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Assisting the surgeon before, during, and after the Mohs surgery procedure
• Preparing the patient for surgery by cleansing and draping the surgical site
• Processing and mapping tissue samples taken during surgery
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment such as microtomes, cryostats, and staining apparatus
• Embedding, cutting, and staining tissue sections for microscopic examination
• Performing quality control checks on slides and ensuring accurate patient identification
• Providing patients with post-operative care instructions as needed
• Maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment in accordance with infection control protocols
• Documenting and reporting any unusual patient or procedural events
• Maintaining sufficient inventory of all supplies and equipment for the procedure room

Qualifications:

• Proven work experience as a Mohs Surgery Technician or similar role
• Knowledge of Mohs surgery procedures and techniques
• Ability to handle surgical instruments and equipment
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Compassionate and caring towards patients
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is a plus

Seeking Certified Medical Phone Triage Certified Medical Assistant for Multi-Provider Practice. They will interact regularly with patients, physicians and other clinical providers, dialysis centers and hospitals and administrative staff. The right candidate for these roles possess the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently. Requires being proactive with good organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and tasks.

A minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience within a physician medical office assisting with medical phone triage addressing patient medical questions accordingly and/or back-office duties required. Experience in Dialysis/Nephrology/Endocrinology is highly preferred. Seeking candidates who manage all work situations with a positive attitude, have a strong attention to detail and are professional and courteous Requires one to work under minimal supervision.

The responsibilities for these positions includes but is not limited to:

• Preparing patient rooms as needed for scheduled appointments
• Responding and answering a high volume of patient phone calls, voicemails, and portal messages with a calm and empathetic demeanor to best address patient needs, symptoms, concerns, and/or requests
• Assisting with prescription refills and adjustments as directed under the supervision of a clinical provider
• Assisting in performing administrative tasks to support back-office operations, including scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and verifying insurance
